The Chavchavadze House Museum, Tsinandali
The Chavchavadze House Museum in Tsinandali, situated in the eastern province of Kakheti, is located in the former summer house of the Georgian prince and writer Alexander Chavchavadze.
In 2010 the museum drew a record number of 40,000 visitors in two months with its exhibition of sculptures by Salvador Dalí.
With the exhibition showcasing an international master like Piet Mondrian as well as famous Hague School masters, the museum hopes to put itself on the European cultural map as well as strengthen the cultural links between Georgia and the Netherlands.
To celebrate 20 years of Georgian independence the country’s embassy in The Hague is organising special cultural days in the city from 23 to 26 May 2011.
