Provenance: part. bezit België.

The Belgian painter and sculptor Jules Pierre van Biesbroeck received the first painting lessons from his father Jules senior, The painter and poster designer war. To further qualify, he followed a training at the academy in Ghent. He exhibited his paintings for the first time in the Jahre 1888, his sculptures in the Jahre 1895. Van Biesbroeck mainly painted landscapes, figure pieces and North African scenes in a realistic style. The bright light in the Maghreb caused him to develop a preference for bright colors and strong light-dark contrasts. As a sculptor he made both monumental and small sculptures.
