At the outbreak of the First World War, Termote fled to the Netherlands via England. He eventually ends up in Amsterdam and follows lessons at the Rijksacademie with Jan Bronner. In 1932 he becomes the Dutch nationality. His star has been rising since the 1930s. He receives many commissions, both for monumental work, reliefs and small sculptures. Albert Termote also taught at the Hague Academy, including Charlotte van Pallandt. In 1962 he had a retrospective in the Haags Gemeentemuseum.
