Benjamin Prins, who came from a wealthy Jewish family, mainly painted figures and genre scenes, often with a humorous undertone. He received his education at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam and the academy in Antwerp; after that he lived for several years in Paris. Through family relationships and through his international education, he maintained close contacts with many foreign artists. He was good friends with Max Liebermann. In 1888 Prins returned permanently to Amsterdam, where he moved into a studio at Plantage Franschelaan 25, which was later occupied by Constant. The painter was a member of Arti et Amicitiae and St. Lucas for many years. Meer over deze brontekstBrontekst vereist voor aanvullende vertaalinformatie Feedback sturen Zijvensters
