This sculpture was previously for sale.

Provenance: coll. Piet en Ida Sanders, Schiedam, in 1988 gekocht bij de Rosa Esman Gallery, New York. Het werk maakte daar deel uit van een tentoonstelling met 7 andere sculpturen van de kunstenares.
Exhibited: New York, Rosa Esman Gallery, 'Carol Hepper', 19 okt.-19 nov. 1988.

Until this day, Carol Hepper's native ground is the source of inspiration for her work: she was born and raised in an Indian reservation in South Dakota. In 1985 the artist moved to New York, where she came into contact with the fleeting and hectic city life. It is these two biographical elements that form the core of her oeuvre that mainly consists of sculptures. On the one hand, she works as a Russian constructivist: different shapes and elements determine the composition of the artwork. On the other hand, her work reminds of artistic expressions from 'primitive' peoples and she often uses traditional techniques and materials.
