No sculptor was able to capture the spirit of the Roaring Twenties quite like Demetre Chiparus with his spectacular statues in bronze and ivory. His large sculptures are mainly inspired by orientalism, Diaghilev's Ballets Russes and the dancers in the Parisian theaters and music halls during the time around the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs of 1925.
