Having started in his parents’ home furnishings business, Jan des Bouvrie rapidly progressed to become one of the Netherlands’ leading interior designers and architects. Led by his signature minimalist vision, Des Bouvrie designed and furnished buildings using furniture, fabrics and other pieces of his own creation. He and his partner Monique have also built up their own large art collection. Occasionally he also painted; sometime he was inspired by the interior of his design studio and workshop, the Arsenaal in Naarden.
