Pierre de Mougins was born in 1966 near Paris, but now lives in Berlin. He is self-taught. An early influence on his work was the French painter Jean Mablord (1909-1978). His first exhibition in 1993 in Montrouge therefore included a small commemorative exhibition of that painter's work. De Mougins represents the figurative direction in post-war painting
