The painter Anna van Sandick, who came from a distinguished family, created romantic landscapes in the style of Barend Cornelis Koekkoek and Johann Bernhard Klombeck, from whom she received instruction and advice during her long stay in Kleve. In Holland she was a member of the Royal Academy of Art. Her paintings were shown several times at the Exhibitions of Living Masters in Amsterdam, The Hague, Deventer and 's-Hertogenbosch. An important work by her is in the Museum B.C. Koekkoek-Huis in Kleve.
