biography of Edmund de Schampheleer

Prominent landscape painter of Belgian descent. Pupil of E. de Block and a good friend of E. de Pratere. He painted in the Netherlands and Germany and became known after participating in the Paris Art Exhibition in 1885. He mainly painted landscapes in a realistic style, which shows his predilection for wide faces and changing skies. Museums: Brussels, Antwerp, Courtrai and Liège.
