biography of George Henry Laporte

In the early 19th century, G.H. Laporte was one of the best-known interpreters in England of the very popular genre of hunting scenes and military depictions with horses. As an animal painter, specializing in horses and dogs, he was employed for a long time by the Duke of Cumberland, later King of Hanover. He also worked for the free market, which constantly supplied him with assignments.
