biography of Johanna Cornelia van Deventer

Johanna van Deventer was one of the better female painters of her time in The Hague. Initially she mainly produced flower still lifes, an appropriate subject for painting ladies. Later in life, however, she mainly occupied herself with painting landscapes in the realistic-impressionist style of the Hague School.
