biography of Bernhard 'Anton' Funke (eig. Funke Küpper)

Anton Funke, born in Germany in 1869, studied at the academy in Rotterdam and then lived and worked in Haarlem from 1895. The painter's favorite subjects were village scenes in Katwijk, net menders and still lifes. The painter taught his son F.W. Funke and to Marie Heinecke.
