biography of Arend Hendriks

Draftsman and graphic artist of portraits, landscapes and still lifes. Received drawing lessons at the Rijkskweekschool voor Onderwijzers in Haarlem, then at the Haags Tekeninstituut. From 1933 he became a teacher at the Academy in The Hague. Had a large number of pupils, including Jan Gregor, Thijs Mauve, Otto Kramer and Gerard Wensma. Museums: Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller in Otterlo.
