biography of Auguste Lucien Bognard

Little is known about the life and work of the French artist Auguste Lucien Bognard. He was born in Paris and took part in the Salon des Indépendants several times, including in the years 1928, 1929 and 1935. His paintings were appreciated in art, as various awards show. For example, in 1937 he received a bronze medal for his contribution to the 'Exposition Universelle - Arts et Techniques dans la vie moderne' in Paris. Bognard mainly painted genre scenes, often in watercolour, with Parisian street or interior scenes as the main subject.
