biography of David Eddington

David Eddington attended art schools in London in the 1960s and 1970s along with the generation of artists such as Julian Freud, Frances Bacon and David Hockney, all of whom he also knew. As a novice painter, in the 1970s his ultra-realistic paintings were especially successful in continental Europe. In particular, the renowned Amsterdam Galerie Siau recognized his talent and organized exhibitions of his work for years. In the end Eddington changed course and opted for experiment and abstraction. Like many English artists at the time, he moved to California in 2000, where he still lives and works.
