biography of Frans Breuhaus de Groot

Frans Breuhaus de Groot learned the painting profession from Andreas Schelfhout, and also received advice from the landscape painter A.J. Besters ((1747-1819). Until 1838 he lived and worked in Leiden, then in The Hague. He also made several trips to Germany. In 1845 he became a member of the Royal Academy in Amsterdam. Breuhaus de Groot specialized in landscapes, and also painted some sea and beach views He was the teacher of his son F.A. Breuhaus de Groot.
