biography of Hermanus Jan Hendrik Rijkelijkhuysen

The landscape painter Rijkelijkhuysen spent most of his life working in the vicinity of his birthplace Utrecht. Inspired by the polders on the one hand and the Utrechtse Heuvelrug on the other, he mainly painted and etched water and wooded landscapes in a romantic style.
