Well-known Belgian painter of portraits and figure paintings, but especially famous for his flowers and fruit still lifes. Initially, Glansdorff was a great admirer of the Flemish Primitives, following his teacher at the Brussels academy, Joseph Stallaert. His style then evolved into luminism, developing a very personal and remarkable technique. His colour palette is always warm and rich, the paint application pasty and of an almost expressionistic spontaneity.
