an den Hengst, born in 1904, lived and worked in Delft, Hilversum and Amsterdam. He was self-taught in painting, watercolor painting and painting in impressionist style landscapes, cityscapes, flowers and still life. In his later work he went over to a sea of realistic style with rich colors and lots of stylish figures. With his travel-loving art lovers Jan Korthals and Jan Rijlaarsdam made his daughters in the likes of France, Spain and Italy in 2006, which he had three years ago and had a big exhibition in Hilversum. Van den Hengst exposed various places in the interior and the Buitenland and was lid van de Amsterdamse kunstenaarsverenigingen Arti et Amicitiae en Sint Lucas en van het Amersfoorts Kunstenaars Genootschap ‘Ploegh’.
