Louis Bigaux made a name for himself as a painter and Art Nouveau designer. As a painter he focused on finely elaborated genre scenes, flowers and still lifes. As a designer, he has contributed to Art Nouveau interiors, including tapestries. Bigaux was born in Normandy and lived in Paris from the 80s of the 19th century. There he was a member of the Société des Artistes Français and participated in their annual Salon.
