biography of Max Esser

The sculpter Max Esser (1885-1945), was given a studio at the Meissen factory in 1920. This allowed him, as a freelance artist, the opportunity to work in both porcelain and Böttger ware. He archieved acclaim for his impressive animal figures and won the Grand Prix at the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne of 1937 in Paris.
