Danish painter of finely elaborated still lifes with flowers and fruits. Student of the Academy in Copenhagen, then of J.G. Berg. He was strongly inspired by Dutch 17th century flower painters such as Jan van Huysum. In 1874 he was appointed professor at the Academy in Copenhagen. Museums: e.g. Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen.
