The artist from Namur, Belgium was born in 1897. She studied at the Art Academy in her hometown and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Her contemporaries appreciated her work and she won many awards including the famous Prix de Rome in 1927 for her sculpture. In her bronze statues the Art Déco style can be recognised. She modeled smooth lines and visible expressions. Bisman mainly made small sculptures. She was also a celebrated painter of portraits, interiors, and cityscapes. Bisman's work has been exhibited several times in her life, including in Brussels, Ghent, Bruges and Sint-Niklaas.
