biography of Rudolf Christian Baisch

Rudolf Baisch actually wanted to become an aviator, but in 1918, in the economically bad post-war years, he had to give up this dream and became a dentist. Interested in material-technical aspects (he was a specialist in the field of working with ceramic material in dentistry), he started training at the academy in Düsseldorf in 1937. After 1945 he worked as a free artist. Initially he focused on small sculptures, especially of animals. From the 1950s onwards he made sculptures for public space (including parks, squares, conference halls, government buildings, schools). The artist has also become known for his lyrics and aphorisms.
