The German artist Wilhelm Robra was a sculptor and for many years associated with the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM) in Berlin as an important designer. For this company, Robra mainly made small statues: naturalistic bird sculptures, which were executed in white or polychrome. Little else is known about the life of this artist. He also made free work, often including birds and other animal figures, which were executed in bronze or porcelain.
