Hungarian painter Andreas Bubarnik grew up in the Hungarian countryside near Budapest. From a young age, he was engaged in painting, primarily depicting fruits and insects on his family farm, which he depicted with an exceptionally fine brush. By refining this technique, he became an artist of still lifes in an exceptionally realistic style. Their texture and beautiful use of colour evoke the atmosphere of the still lifes of the great masters of the 17th century. Bubarnik was a modest man, and little is known about him, but he painted prolifically, and his work remains beloved and widely circulated in various European countries.
