biography of Albert Pinot

Albert Pinot belonged to the 'Sillonisten', a group of Belgian painters who rediscovered the light and colours of Impressionism shortly after 1900. He painted his landscapes, figures and still lifes in a bright, rich colour and with often pasty brushstrokes. His search for colour led him to travel through France, Turkey and Denmark. Pinot was also an accomplished watercolorist.
