biography of Alexander Joseph Daiwaille

Alexander Joseph Daiwaille was een leerling van zijn vader Jean Augustin Daiwaille en van zijn zwager B.C. Koekkoek. Hij schilderde romantische zomer- en winterlandschappen die, nadat hij zich in 1849 in Brussel had gevestigd, meermalen werden gestoffeerd door de veeschilder E.J. Verboeckhoven. In 1840 maakte Daiwaille een reis door Duitsland, waarna hij van 1841 tot 1847 bij B.C. Koekkoek in Kleef woonde.
