biography of Antal Berkes

Hungarian painter of mainly Impressionist cityscapes, genre scenes and landscapes. In the years 1889-1894 he was educated at the art academy in his hometown Budapest. This is where most of his cityscape later originated. Berkes also worked in Paris for some time and also painted Viennese street scenes. He was married to the figure and landscape painter Ilona Berkes.
