Bonifacius Cornelis Schneiders van Greyffenswerth combined the profession of painter with a legal practice. He studied law in Leiden, where he obtained the title of doctor in 1829. He was probably taught by the landscape painter A.J. Couwenberg in The Hague. After a period of traveling through Belgium, Germany and Switzerland, he settled around 1843 in Arnhem, where his former teacher now also lived. The painter made a name for himself with still lifes with fruits and game and with landscapes in summer and winter. In 1853 he settled in Amsterdam.
