The French painter Claude Gaveau has become known for still lifes, landscapes, seascapes and compositions with nudes. By combining clearly defined geometric shapes with realistic motifs, he has created a fascinating, individual style. Color and structure play an important role in this. Born in 1940 into an artistic family, the painter received a solid education in the applied arts at the Paris École des Arts Appliqués. In the 1970s he broke through to the international audience.
