The painter and graphic artist David Bueno de Mesquita was a traveling artist. After his education at the Rijksnormaalschool voor tekenleraren and the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, he spent a few years in Rome, Madrid and at various locations in Italy. Alternated with shorter or longer visits to Amsterdam. In 1929 he settled for good as an artist in Florence. Bueno de Mesquita mainly drew and painted landscapes, portraits, figure pieces and mythological subjects. He was a member of the artists' associations St. Lucas and Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam.
