Diana Vandenberg belonged to the group of 7 meta-realists around the painter Johfra (Franciscus Johannes Gijsbertus van den Berg 1919-1998), with whom she had a long relationship. Under the influence of Rosicrucian meetings, the spiritually oriented Johfra and Diana immersed themselves in Gnosticism and Hermetics and created esoteric, visionary representations - painted extremely realistically - of things beyond ordinary consciousness. A number of Diana's hermetic paintings have been used for book covers, and for posters printed by Drukkerij Verkerke in Ede, including this painting 'The seventh day'.
