biography of Eduard 'Ed' Gerdes

The painter Ed Gerdes combined free artistry with a job as a civil servant. He lived and worked at a young age in Amsterdam and Heeze, then lived in Amsterdam, Laren (1921-1941) and The Hague (1942-1945). His oeuvre is varied: he painted and watercolored portraits, landscapes, church interiors and still lifes in an impressionist style.
