This Silesian-born artist taught himself how to paint. Emanuel Bachrach-Barée lived in Munich from 1885. That his work was highly appreciated there is evident from his participation in the famous exhibitions in the Münchener Glaspalast in the years around 1900. In 1896 he also submitted work for the Secession exhibition there. The artist traveled to the Netherlands and spent some time in Valkenburg aan de Geul and Arnhem.
