Ernemann Sander started training at the art academy in Weimar in 1941, which he had to interrupt because of the war. He did not continue his studies until 1947, but in the same year he had to discontinue it again, and now definitively. This did not prevent Sander from working as a free artist. In 1951 the sculptor left East Germany to settle in West Berlin, and four years later in Bonn. Sander makes sculptures for outdoor spaces and small bronzes, especially human figures and animals.
