Ernest Filliard was a French watercolourist of flower still lifes in often pronounced colours, suitable in various types of vases and bowls. He was a pupil of portrait painter Benoît Molin and lived and worked in Chambéry. Filliard was a member of the Société des Artistes Français and was knighted in 1914 in the Légion d'honneur, the highest and most important French national decoration.
