Fabio Cipolla lived and worked in Rome all his life. There he specialized in painting narrative genre scenes, which were popular throughout Europe in the decades around 1900. His elegant women in the streets of Rome, country beauties, musing nudes and oriental depictions stand out for the use of colour and the clever depiction of precious materials. The detailed objects sometimes together form small still lifes. Cipolla also painted some landscapes around Rome.
