Famous French painter of naturally arranged flower still lifes. He made his debut in 1866 at the Paris Salon, where his work was awarded several times. The delicate compositions of cultivated and wild flowers are shown best in his watercolours and gouaches. Museums: e.g. Paris, Museé du Luxembourg.
