This Belgian artist specialized in painting still lifes with flowers and fruits in the style of the Dutch flower painters of the 17th and 18th centuries. François van Geit lived and worked in Brussels, where he regularly exhibited his work, including at the Salons of 1836, 1845 and 1848.
