biography of Franziska Schlopsnies

German artist Franziska Schlopsnies is known to make a name for herself as an Art Deco artist and fashion designer in the early 20th century. Between 1920 and 1930 she regularly provided illustrations for the humorous magazine 'Meggendorfer-Blätter'; usually images of elegant, fashion-conscious young women who were provided with a pointed text by the magazine. This watercolor was featured on the cover of the April 21 issue in 1927 with the caption [translated]: 'Frank -' You really want to drive me around in your car for my shopping? But then you sacrifice your precious time for me. ' Well, I ask you, dear Miss, my time is worthless after all. ”On December 30, 1944, she died in Auschwitz concentration camp.
