The Danish painter C.F. Clement received his painting training at the Copenhagen Academy and took lessons with the then famous genre painter P.S. Kroyer. He then continued his studies in Paris and Italy. He painted genre scenes, portraits and interiors - very popular in Denmark. After 1900 his art was characterized by a loose, impressionistic touch and a clear, light colour with a clear French influence.
