Little is known about the life of the Greek-born George Constantine. At a young age he moved with his family to the United States where he began his education at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1916. His early, figurative work is characterized by bright, Fauvist colours and exaggerated proportions of his figures.
