Little is known about the life of George Constantine, born in Greece. At a young age he moved with his family to the United States where he began his education in 1916 at the School of the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston. His early, figurative, work is characterized by bright, fauvist colours and exaggerated proportions of his figures.
