The French sculptor George Trinque was active in the period when bronze statues to decorate the interior of the French 'haute bourgeoisie' were very fashionable. His sculptures are therefore usually made in bronze, sometimes in terracotta. Some of his work is considered Art Deco. The woman is his main subject.
