With his paintings of beautiful young women and resting nudes in opulent boudoirs, G.P. Guinegault has found his place among the group of French painters who, at the turn of the century, were engaged in painting 'beautiful women'. It was a very popular genre in France, and some of the nudes that came on the market resembled the sensual photos that were circulating in certain circles at the time. In addition to 'beautiful women', Guinegault also painted landscapes and Breton harbor views.
