Gerrit van Jeveren painted landscapes and village and port views in a smooth-impressionistic style, especially in and around Rotterdam and The Hague. The painter was born in the latter city and was educated at the Rotterdam Academy. Then he had lessons from the impressionist J.E. van de Wetering de Rooy. Van Jeveren sold his work regularly through the, at the time well known, Kunsthandel Koch, who had an office in both The Hague and Rotterdam.
