Hans Peter Lindeburg is known to have been born in Copenhagen in 1854 and earned his living from 1881 in Denmark as a genre and history painter. That he traveled and also visited the Netherlands, is proven by a painting that we had in our collection earlier, of a bomb pulled on the beach. These fishing boats were mainly used along the Dutch coast. Their wide hull provided ample storage space for the fish caught and their flat bottom made them easy to pull onto the beach.
