The painter Hendrik van Randwijk, who died young, started painting at a later age. Initially he was an art teacher in Dordrecht. He then received painting lessons in Rotterdam from the marine painter J.H. van Mastenbroek and attended the academy. In addition to free painting, Van Randwijk worked as a decorative painter and drawing teacher at a secondary school (H.B.S.) in Rotterdam. He is best known for still lifes and some nudes.
